Jesus Christ saved my soul over sixty years ago. I practiced the Baptist doctrine most of my life. I switched to United Methodist around 2016 when 84 percent of white evangelicals supported an antichrist, demagogue, solipsist for POTUS; God does NOT promote antichrist people as leaders (1 John 2:18). BTW, my wife and I did not switch to Global Methodist. The reason we switched denominations is part of the motivation to create this handbook. Estimates indicate well over half of professing “Christians” do NOT have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Voting for an evil, antichrist, demagogue solipsist three elections in a row is a deliberate pattern of antichrist behavior (Ps. 5:5, 11:5; Eph. 5:11; Matt. 6:13; John 10:27; 1 John 2:6) and not the behavior of Christ. They don’t know Jesus, because they don’t know His Father (John 8:19). The worst words anyone can hear from Jesus are, “I never knew you; depart from me” (Matt. 7:23 ESV). If they had an established relationship with God, they’d know Jesus. An established, working relationship with God through Jesus is the key to a fulfilled earthly and eternal life.

On a personal note: I accepted Jesus as my Savior before age 10. I went back to Jesus for assurance of my salvation time and time again. I still go to Him sometimes in prayer to ensure He knows I want to spend eternity with Him and not with unbelievers. I am comforted in assuring Christ that I love Him, want what He wants (after God’s heart), and want to be now and for the rest of eternity in His presence.

I grew up with exceptional grades in advanced classes in school. My IQ score was in the upper range of ~7 percent of the population. I earned honors in all my undergraduate and graduate studies. I enjoy and take learning seriously. I earned the university degrees listed above with honor GPAs in all of them. My career in math and computer science required precision in everything; for success, everything must be precise. I treated this handbook as I treat everything in my life, with precision. “Kinda, sorta”, “probably” does not work for me (or God). My resume and job history assured employers I “get ‘er done” before the due date and better/quicker than they or their customers expected. This is the person who wrote this handbook. You can find comfort in this.

Synopsis of what I believe: God is a Trinitarian entity: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. He created our universe from nothing along with plants and animals with the capability for microevolution. He created Adam and from Adam created Eve as equal partners in their relationship. God does not need us; we need Him. He created us with a need for a relationship with Him where we worship Him. God has agape love for us where He pursues us to establish a relationship. I believe the human tripartite view where each person has a body, soul, and spirit which returns if/when the person accepts Jesus as Savior (at conversion). A human body receives its “soul” (the person) sometime after birth and not before. The Bible is God’s inspired Word telling us what we need to know about Him to generate enough faith to accept Him as Lord of our life. He has a divine plan for everyone and an individual plan for each person.

Christians, today, are not called to live by the Ten Commandments, but are called to continually “walk in the Spirit” enabling them to live under the Law of Christ (love God and others as self) in Christ’s New Covenant. As such, God’s Holy Spirit enables us to love others as He loved us and NOT to judge others. Judging is Jesus’ job since He is the only righteous entity capable/qualified to judge the heart. I assure you Jesus is humanity’s judge (John 5:22), not you or anyone else! Jesus is the theme of the Bible. He came to earth as a man born of a virgin to show us how to live with the heart of God and to atone for our sins providing humanity a path back to its original fellowship with God. To regain our/His spirit along with a relationship with Him, we must be born again. This conversion process requires conviction of sin by God’s Holy Spirit, faith provided by God, our repentance and confession of sin, where the person recognizes sin separates us from God to then turn from sin and put Christ on the throne of their life to follow and learn about Him. Baptism is not required for salvation but is symbolic of salvation. Each believer is to be conformed to the image of Christ as per God’s plan for their life. Believers are rewarded for actions accomplished as per God’s will through His power and for His glory. When the Church Age has run its course, God will rapture His Church/Bride from earth. At the last judgment, people who neglected or rejected being “born again” will be separated from God their creator for all eternity. Those accepting Him will spend eternity with God in the New Heaven and New Earth.

CRITICAL: Just believing in God (and Jesus as His son) is NOT salvation. God’s Holy Spirit provides conviction of sin. Conviction of sin is necessary to enable confession of sin. Confession of sin leads to repentance of sin. Unless there’s repentance of sin (includes a changed mind and behavior), there’s no forgiveness of sin. Without forgiveness of sin, there’s no salvation from the penalty of sin.

Note: This handbook is not intended to “judge” anyone for any reason. The goal is to serve as a “wake-up call” for those who may be muddling through their relationship with Jesus, those who think they have a relationship with Jesus but don’t (Matt. 7:23), and those who don’t know Jesus as their Savior. To me, the saddest of these three tragedies are those who assumed they knew God but didn’t. I read once the church does not need another “book” of facts. It needs a learning program for hands on training of new born-again believers on how to establish and enhance their relationship with God. This is my purpose for this handbook. Someone said, don’t ever forget what purpose motivated you to write your book, so there it is. This book is larger than most but only scratches the surface of who God is and what His intentions are toward us. Our intent is to motivate you.
